Prairie BioGas Limited was founded by Verde Energy Ltd. of Regina, Saskatchewan, Kyoto Fuels Corporation (“KFC”) of Lethbridge, Alberta and Capital Technologies, Inc. (“CTI”) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to develop waste-to-energy projects using pyrolysis technologies. These technologies produce synthetic gas (“syngas”) that can be substituted for natural gas for heating purposes or used to generate electricity in conventional equipment, bio-oil for use in heaters and generating equipment and biochar, which acts as a carbon sequestration material. The technology allows for a varied selection of feedstock choices including wood waste, municipal waste, used tires, used engine oil, plastic garbage, and wastes from automobile disposal.
